Shelving guide

Shelving planned around what you need

Tell us what the shelves need to hold and where they need to fit. We can help shape the depth, spacing, support and finish around your room.

What to plan

Before you begin

Four details are enough to begin

Start your enquiry
01

List what the shelves need to hold

Books, decor, records, speakers and technical equipment have different depth and support needs. Measure the largest and heaviest items instead of choosing shelf depth by appearance alone.

02

Use vertical space without crowding the desk

Keep frequently used items within easy reach and allow comfortable screen sightlines. Higher shelves are better for lighter or less frequently used items.

03

Choose the right structure

A freestanding shelf or desk riser can move with the furniture. Wall-mounted and full-height shelving needs suitable fixing, which we plan with you.

04

Plan cables and ventilation

Equipment shelves need room for connectors, airflow and power. Note where sockets sit and avoid enclosing devices that need ventilation.
